Access Design Consultations
The following is a selected list of recently completed Alpha One Access Design Consultations for private & public libraries
Paris Public Library, South Paris, Me.:
Full site and building survey, documentation, and recommendations for immediate and long range barrier removal strategies to a National Register library facility. A proposed long range transition plan was developed along with budget estimates for recommendations made.
City of South Portland Library Facilities:
Full accessibility survey and evaluation services for the Main Library on Broadway and Branch Library on Wescott Road in South Portland. Services included on-site survey, detailed report with recommendations, and budget estimates for recommended modifications.
Maine Historical Library and Longfellow House, Portland, Me.
Site, building, and program access study and recommendations for physical and program accessibility for both of these National Register landmarks owned and operated by the Maine Historical Society.
Fogler Library, U of M, Orono, Me.
Access Design and Fire Protection consultation services in conjunction with and to supplement a long range planning study for the University of Maine system and the Fogler Library. Services included on-site observations and documentation of existing conditions, regulatory research and compliance verification, and recommendations for remedial action. Services were provided to library "experts" Robert A.M. Stern Architects of New York, NY who were the primary planning consultants on the project.
Cary Library, Houlton, Me.
Accessibility Consultation for Brockway Associates of Houlton, Maine, primary consultants to the Cary Library. Services included report and plan(s) review and guidance for the evaluation and recommendations made to the library by Brockway Assoc. to improve accessibility at the existing facility.
