About Maine AgrAbility

Helping Maine farmers with chronic health conditions and disabilities gain more control over their lives, continue to farm successfully, and live independently.

There are an estimated 5,600 farmers, farm family members, or farm workers in Maine with a chronic health condition or disability.* If you fall into this category, or know someone who does, contact Maine AgrAbility for more information. You can also ask for an assessment of your situation and farm operation. There is no fee for our services.

Who can use Maine AgrAbility? 

AgrAbility works with full-time and part-time farmers, farm workers, and farm family members with a chronic health condition or disability.

Request Maine AgrAbility Assistance
If you know a farmer, farm family member or farm worker in Maine with a disability who might benefit from this outreach project, please encourage them to request assistance. You can request assistance in a number of ways, including calling the AgrAbility Coordinator at 207.944.1533 or 1.800.287.1471 or e-mailing maine.agrability@maine.edu.

If you are a farmer, farm family member or farm worker with a disability in Maine, you may also apply for a work site assessment by filling out and submitting an online Assistance Request Form or printing out and mailing in a completed Assistance Request Form (Word).
