New from Jiraffe is the Rifton Hygiene and Toileting System (HTS) –  a hygiene system designed to solve the toileting challenge!

Time and again, research has shown the necessity of good toileting for children’s health, and the HTS has been designed with that in mind. Hygienic, simple, affordable, and adaptable to most toilets, the Rifton HTS promotes the forward positioning that is ideal for effective toileting. Meanwhile, its versatility and simplicity – usable on, over and off the toilet, no tools required – is designed to improve the health of every child and the life of every carer.

Its key feature is a unique toilet seat that is open to the back, which allows carers to assist users without needing others on hand to help with lifting and holding. All that’s needed is to tilt the chair, help the child lean forward against either the harness or anterior support tray and then the carer is free to care and cleanse as required.

Innovative features include: A bathtub stand, for comfortable in-tub bathing and hair washing; a portability kit, which gives users greater independence – and their families greater freedom to travel. The lightweight folding frame and carry bag (for small and medium sizes) make toileting possible while travelling; tilt in space: with its gas-assisted springs, the Rifton HTS tilts 15 ̊ forward for easier transfer, as well as 15 ̊ back; load bearing footplate, for easier transfers; and independently adjustable thoracic supports which can be asymmetrically adjusted any which way required to provide an exact configuration for the user’s needs.
