MaineHousing and the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development are currently developing the HUD Consolidated Plan for 2015-2019. This plan identifies the priorities and goals for using the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), and the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG).

MaineHousing is seeking input on how these funds should be allocated. In the past, MaineHousing has used HOME funds for homeowner rehab, multifamily new construction/rehab, and tenant-based rental assistance. MaineHousing has used ESG funds to fund emergency shelters, rapid re-housing programs and the Homeless Management Information System. Other eligible uses of the HOME funds include acquisition, homebuyer assistance, and new construction for ownership. Other eligible uses of ESG funds include street outreach and homeless prevention.

Please share your input with them by submitting your comments and recommendations to Paula Weber, MaineHousing Compliance Officer, at pweber@mainehousing.org  by the end of August.
