Peer Services

Few can understand the needs and challenges of living with disability better than someone who shares that disability. Peer services, linking consumers with disabilities with other consumers with disabilities or their families, can be a rewarding experience for all involved. Peers are able to share experience and strategies for independent living while understanding the dynamics of living with disability. Not only do consumers with disabilities benefit, but those peers who provide the services are enriched and grow. Teaching and learning are two sides of the same coin and peer services links people with common experiences to learn from each.
